Dr. Sweeta Walia brings over 20 years of experience in dentistry, combining her extensive knowledge with a deep passion for patient care. Originally from North Indian descent, she grew up in Quebec and was introduced to the medical field early on, coming from a family of doctors. She completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University before earning her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Dr. Walia has pursued advanced training across multiple areas of dentistry. She completed a General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital, where she gained specialized experience in cosmetic dentistry and treating medically compromised patients. Committed to continuous learning, she has taken numerous continuing education courses over the years, expanding her expertise in general dentistry, implant dentistry, and orthodontics—particularly Invisalign. She has also completed a master’s course in implant prosthetics and has performed many successful cosmetic cases, transforming patients’ smiles with precision and artistry.
As a two-time breast cancer survivor and a strong advocate for breast cancer awareness, Dr. Walia deeply understands the challenges faced by medically compromised patients, especially those undergoing cancer treatment. She is passionate about educating patients on the impact of cancer treatments on oral health and providing specialized care to support their dental well-being during and after treatment.
Dr. Walia is a proud member of the American Dental Association and stays up to date with the latest advancements in dental technology to ensure her patients receive the highest level of care.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Walia is a passionate global traveler who has lived in multiple countries, including Japan, embracing diverse cultures and experiences. She is multilingual, speaking conversational French and Japanese, as well as Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, allowing her to connect with a wide range of patients on a deeper level.
